Biomechanics of Human Motion

Understanding the mechanical principles that govern human movement is essential for fields like sports medicine, rehabilitation, orthopedics, and physical therapy. This session examines the structural and functional biomechanics of bones, muscles, joints, and connective tissues. Participants will explore motion analysis, musculoskeletal loading, and neuromuscular coordination, as well as how these are influenced by age, injury, and physical training. Emphasis is placed on joint kinetics, muscle fiber orientation, and proprioception in optimizing movement efficiency and preventing injury. Applications include prosthetic design, orthopedic surgery planning, and the development of assistive technologies for individuals with mobility challenges.
