Genetics in Physiology and Function

Genetic factors play a foundational role in shaping physiological traits and susceptibility to disease. This session examines how gene expression, epigenetic modifications, and hereditary patterns influence organ function and systemic balance. Topics include genetic regulation of metabolic pathways, gene-environment interactions, and the molecular basis of inherited diseases. Advances in genomics, CRISPR-based gene editing, and precision medicine will be discussed as transformative tools in understanding and modifying physiological processes. The integration of genetic screening into clinical practice and its role in risk assessment, early intervention, and individualized therapy will also be emphasized.
